What Is Liposuction?
Liposuction is a cosmetic procedure that removes unwanted fat deposits from targeted areas such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, arms, back, or chin. It enhances body contour when diet and exercise have not achieved desired results.
Procedure Overview
Small incisions are made to insert a cannula, which suctions out fat. It can be combined with other procedures such as abdominoplasty or fat grafting for enhanced results. Patients return home the same day or after one night.
Recovery and Considerations
Compression garments are worn postoperatively to reduce swelling. Most patients return to light activities in a few days and to full activities within 4–6 weeks. Results are long-lasting with weight stability.
