Understanding the Procedure
Rotator cuff repair addresses tears in the tendons that stabilise the shoulder joint. The procedure may be done arthroscopically (keyhole) or through a mini-open incision.
When It’s Needed
- Persistent shoulder pain
- Weakness in lifting or rotating the arm
- Night pain affecting sleep
- Failed response to physiotherapy and injections
Postoperative Expectations
Patients wear a sling for several weeks. Physiotherapy begins early and is crucial for regaining motion and strength. Return to overhead sports or manual labour may take 4–6 months.
